Day 118 — Dry Practice

December 23rd, 2010 Tom

Before leaving this morning at 04:00 I squeezed in a little dry fire practice — 5 minutes and 40 concealed draws.

While I’m really liking the slightly higher ride height of the Shaggy (since it more easily facilitates acquiring a full firing grip while the gun is still in the holster), I did experience a little discomfort today while driving. It seems that the bottom edge of the holster is poking my lower abdomen in a different place than the Looper did. After a few hours, it starts to become a bit uncomfortable. As a result I shifted the holster around quite a bit today trying to find a better location for it. However, having spent 18 hours behind the wheel after only getting 4 hours of sleep last night, I must admit that pretty much everything about today involved discomfort — except the BMC which just disappeared and I never noticed I had it on.

I’ll continue to adjust the holster position and see if I can find a comfortable place for it. If not, I’ll be switching to the Looper I brought as a backup since I know it is extremely comfortable (even when seated in a car for hours at a time).
